PRENATAL CONSULTATION

We'll cover chest/breastfeeding and other lactation basics in this two hour prenatal appointment. We'll learn about when and how to start latching, positioning, benefits of breastmilk, how to get off to a good start, understanding hunger cues, how to know if baby is getting enough milk, hand expression, and how to develop and maintain a good milk supply. We'll also go over frequently asked questions about nursing and some signs you could use additional support. We will also discuss your specific questions and medical history in relation to lactation. Prenatal visits are held in my office or virtually.

Follow-up: You will receive an email with a summary of what we discussed including other resources and videos. I invite clients to text me with small questions for the remainder of their nursing journey. If the questions are getting extensive or complicated, I may request that we set up another consultation.

Investment: $200 -- Please see Fees/Insurance for information about insurance coverage or sliding scale payment.

POSTPARTUM HOME VISITS

Initial appointments are typically 2 hours.

Follow-up: You will receive an email with a summary of what we discussed and a care plan that includes relevant resources and videos. I can provide a report to your pediatrician upon request. TRANSITIONING TO NURSING A TODDLER

You've been the primary source of nutrition for your baby for the last year. Unsure if you want to keep nursing or feeling so tired you're not sure you can? Let's chat! The transition to nursing a toddler can be confusing and overwhelming for many, and it's such a different experience than nursing an infant. In this consultation we'll discuss setting boundaries, chat about what's different as your baby hits that big one year milestone, answer all your questions (including if you need to keep pumping), and so much more. For many parents, this consultation gives them the tools to feel comfortable feeding far beyond the one year mark without feeling excessively touched out or exhausted.

Nursing to two years and beyond is not only recommended by the WHO and AAP, but it's such a beautiful parenting and bonding tool. Let me help you get there with confidence!

Follow-up: You will receive an email with a summary of what we discussed and a care plan that includes relevant resources and videos. I invite clients to text me with small questions for the remainder of their nursing journey as part of the fee. If the questions are getting extensive or complicated, I may request that we set up another consultation (virtual or in-person).

PRE-ADOPTION / INDUCING LACTATION CONSULTATION

Are you interested in trying to breastfeed a baby in your life, but are not going to be pregnant to welcome that child? Situations where this may be relevant include growing a family via adoption or the non-carrying partner in a same-sex partnership (where that person was sex assigned female at birth). During an individual consultation we can discuss your goals for lactation and come up with a plan for trying to induce lactation even if you've never gone through a pregnancy. We can also discuss formula and mixed feeding if relevant so you can feel fully confident in feeding your kiddo.  Initial appointments are typically 90 mins to 2 hours.

Cost: $250 ($200 follow-up) -- Please see Fees/Insurance for information about insurance coverage or sliding scale payment.

BACK TO WORK CONSULTATION & OTHER SEPARATION SCENARIOS

Starting a new job or heading back to work after baby is born? Have to be separated for baby for a work trip or family obligation?

In this consultation we can discuss your options and create a plan to maintain your milk supply while you're away. We will learn about milk storage options and best practices and discuss how much your baby needs while you're away. I will also help you develop a feeding plan to help avoid baby developing a preference for bottle. We can discuss bottle refusal options if that applies to your situation. Consultation can be done virtually or in-person depending on your needs and may include observation of a pumping session, introducing a bottle or demonstration of appropriate paced bottle feeding technique, cup feeding (as desired), pump flange sizing, hand expression tutorial, and more.  Appointments are typically 90 mins to 2 hours.

Follow-up: You will receive an email with a summary of what we discussed and a care plan that includes relevant resources and videos. I can provide a report to your pediatrician upon request. I invite clients to text me with small questions for the remainder of their nursing journey as part of the fee. If the questions are getting extensive or complicated, I may request that we set up another consultation (virtual or in-person).

Cost: $200 ($150 follow-up)  -- Please see Fees/Insurance for information about insurance coverage or sliding scale payment.

EXCLUSIVE PUMPING

Planning to exclusively pump or have found yourself in that situation? We'll discuss your lactation goals, learn how to make pumping as efficient/productive as possible, and come up with a plan that feels sustainable for you and your lifestyle. The consult may include but is not limited to an observed pumping session, tutorial on pump usage, education on bottle feeding and milk storage, information on feed sizes by age, and much more depending on your specific circumstances. We can also discuss trying to get baby back to breast if that's of interest to you (note that while of course not guaranteed, it can be possible to get a baby back to breast even when they're several months old).

Follow-up: You will receive an email with a summary of what we discussed including other resources and videos. I invite clients to text me with small questions for the remainder of their nursing journey. If the questions are getting extensive or complicated, I may request that we set up another consultation.
